Introito
I recommend listening to my friends from United States, U.K., Spain, people around the world and Venezuelans too, you will find two masterly covers of ''How Deep is your Love'', one of the most acclaimed songs of the British band The Bee Gees, composed and produced by them in 1977. Their singers' names are Astrid Celeste and Yrmaleza Alvarado and they born in my country Venezuela. I discovered that both performs songs in english of my beloved Bee Gees and other greats. The first one singer makes use together with her father Yasmil Marrufo and his group of purely Creole instruments of our folklore (cuatro and maracas, bajo). And the another one makes too a beautiful rendition of this song accompanied by a cuatro, that typical Venezuelan instrument. I feel so proud. I apologize for my basic English but I wanted to share it with my readers and lovers of the Bee Gees. I hope you enjoy it.

Astrid Celeste and the musicians. Her artistic relationships and those of his father Yasmil Marrufo composer of great singers

Astrid Celeste, Venezuelan Folk Singer (3)

I want to talk to you about an amazing Venezuelan singer who has become popular on social networks, for her covers in Venezuelan folk version. Astrid Celeste is a Venezuelan singer currently living in Miami, USA. Three years ago she decided to take music as a profession and since then, she's been making herself known with her amazing videos.

Astrid is the daughter of the famous Venezuelan producer, composer, music arranger and multi-instrumentalist Yasmil Marrufo, who has worked for artists such as Ricky Martin, Oscar de León, Carlos Baute, Ricardo Montaner, Chayanne and others. Yasmil is considered one of the most talented producers and music arrangers in Latin America, due to his ability to produce pop, rock, ballad, pop-salsa, merengue and vallenato.

He made Venezuelans proud with the album's production "Tributo a Simón Díaz" (a famous musician, composer and performer of the Venezuelan popular genre) in which he demonstrated his knowledge of Venezuelan music, perfectly fusing pop with Venezuelan folklore. Astrid Celeste was always involved in the world of music because she helped her dad with some demos, but never considered taking music as a career, until one day, when she was driving while listening to a song by Beyonce (her favorite singer), she imagined herself singing for an audience and thought that's what she likes to do the most in the world, so she immediately wrote to her father: "Dad, I want to be a singer". Since then she has been doing covers with her dad of famous songs like "Overjoyed" by Stevie Wonder; "Boca" written by Yasmil Marrufo and his wife Daisy Sanz and performed by Reinaldo Alvarez; "Somethin' Stupid" by Frank Sinatra in Italian version; ''How Deep is your love'' by Bee Gees and other songs.

Another cover: Yrmaleza Alvarado

''This is a Song of the Bee Gees arranged by the producer Yasmil Marrufo in a Venezuelan Folk music style, My english is not the best but singin is the best way I found to learn. I hope you enjoy it''.

Yrmaleza Alvarado is a singer, she is (4), 32 years old woman, proactive and passionate about arts. She comments too:

''I sing too ''How Deep is your love'' Although from a time here I sing more alternative pop-rock style. I am an art lover in all its extension''. My first Company is my family, my roles as mother and wife are priority. I have a degree in Theology, in the area of family counseling. Due to the fervent interest in knowing the mind human, I currently develop studies in Psychology, another of my passions of life. I am a singer, of those who spend the day among melodies and diverse lyrics. Singing relieves me soul, and I give my soul a taste. I love writing poetry, composing songs, creating stories and other literary styles; In short, I'm in search of mastering the beautiful art of writing.

My next goal is to catapult some ideas that I have put on paper concerning the psyche of the human being. More than just graduating, consolidate as a researcher and make these Findings to grow knowledge of the area in question. My commitment is to leave an indelible mark on a positive level, in the artistic and other humanistic currents in which. I find myself making life''.

Bachelor in Psychology
''With your support to complete $30 per month, I will be able to cover the expenses of a Bachelor's degree in Psychology at Yacambú in Venezuela. Weekly I will publish articles related to psychology, psychotherapy and orientation to show the advance in the career and provide information of help for the community. On that road I walk; want my feet and the whole of my being to support me!''

Venezuelan Folk Music Instruments

About the cuatro
In 2019 let's talk about the Cuatro, Venezuelan musical instrument, also called cuatro llanero, It is a typical instrument and the most emblematic of Venezuelan music. It is used in both rural and urban areas. Its nylon strings produce a beautiful sound, melancholy but sober

Cuatro (four-string guitar)
The cuatro, Venezuela's cultural heritage, is a four-string, wooden musical instrument of far-off origin. It arrived in Venezuela concomitantly with the earlier conquerors. It is totally hand-made. Some families have devoted for generations to manufacturing. For such purpose, they use cedar and pine. Lara state is the herald in this matter; the most valuable cuatros come from there. Formerly an accompanist, this musical instrument was promoted to the rank of soloist.

Maracas
Maracas are an idiophone instrument because of their stand-alone vibration and lack of additional tautness. Maracas are made of the dry fruit of the calabash tree and filled with dry seeds. The seeds are selected according to the size of the fruit. Maracas have been used since pre-Colombus times. Indigenous people used to play only one. Generally, in the Latin American pop music, maracas are played in pairs; hence, the plural number of "maracas".

Yasmil Marrufo
''Yasmil Marrufo is a Venezuelan composer, music arranger, producer and multi-instrumentalist, born in Coro, State of Falcón. His passion for music goes back to the age of 4, when he could already play maracas, Venezuelan cuatro, and many other instruments his mother exposed him to. He was regarded as a child prodigy who sang and played any instrument set before him. His career began at about age 14, when he made appearances with various bands, dance orchestras, and Venezuelan folk groups in his native country, where he served as arranger, singer and songwriter. In fact, Yasmil stood out because of the versatility he showed when playing multiple instruments (Piano, Guitar, Bass, Venezuelan Cuatro, Drums, Percussion, etc.) in different styles of music...''.

''His productions have repeatedly reached Number 1 on the Billboard Charts, and have reached Multi-Platinum for sales of albums of renowned artists, such as Ricky Martin, Alexander Pires, Ricardo Montaner, Carlos Baute. He has also won two Grammy Awards in 2007 for Oscar de Leon’s album “Fusionando” and for the Venezuelan band Voz Veis with the album “Cómo se Llega a Belén”. In addition, he won 4 BMI awards as Composer of the Year.
Yasmil is considered by many to be the most multitalented producer and music arranger in the Latin market due to his skills in producing from a pop/rock ballad to a pop/salsa or merengue or a vallenato. Proof of this can be observed in the Tribute Album for Simon Diaz, where he displayed his knowledge of Venezuelan music, mixing pop in a way that gave the album a unique twist to Venezuelan folklore music'' (5).

About Carlos Mendoza

Me siento tan orgullosa.
